Teriyaki Boy, Cebu
Baby’s teeth have been giving us problems again. Her two upper canine teeth just came out and we had an interchanging cocktail of fever, runny nose, dry cough, and soft stool. One thing that never goes away though is Baby’s appetite. Sick or not, she eats the same way (Ha!). So after she started feeling well, we decided to go out as a family. We spent the afternoon at the mall and let Baby ride her favorite rides at Timezone. Then for dinner, we went to eat at our favorite Japanese restaurant in Ayala Center, Teriyaki Boy.
Teriyaki Boy
I looooove Japanese food. I could eat it everyday and not get sick if it (that’s how much I love it!). So you can imagine how happy I was when I found out Teriyaki Boy opened a branch in Cebu (yey! Another jap resto in town). Unfortunately for me, Dad and Hubby don’t share that same enthusiasm. I practically have to force them to eat Japanese. We were still in our I-can’t-enough-of-the-terraces phase so we ended up there for lunch. We got there and dad’s back pains were acting up again. He said he didn’t feel up to walking. We were right in front of Teriyaki Boy so I suggested how about we eat here (secretly crossing my fingers behind my back). Ok, he said. It was full inside so I tell dad and hubby to take a seat on the bench. I approached the hostess and true to my feeling, the place is full. She wrote our names in the waiting list and thankfully we’re second in line. I scanned the place a little and I thought, oh my, how are we gonna go in with the stroller, the place is tiny, and practically cramped. There are lots of tables, but basically they accommodate for small number of people per family. Families of 3 have no problem eating here, but it might be another story for a family of 12. We waited for a couple of minutes and our names were finally called. They seated us at one of the couch tables and sure enough we have problems fitting the stroller. Hubby and I decided to take turns holding baby on our lap.
The food choice looks great at first glance and prices are reasonable. My first time at a restaurant, I like to order the house specialties. At least you know you can’t go wrong because it’s their specialty, unless the place really sucks. When we eat out, we also like to order more than enough food just so we can bring home and avoid cooking dinner or lunch the next day. Dad orders Agedashi Tofu (adobo tofu), Kani Salad (crab salad), 3 Piece Ebi tempura, and Yakimeshi (fried rice).
The tofu is marvelous. At first bite, it’s so moist yet it has a crispy exterior. Too bad there were only 3 pieces.
