Lemon Grass
It was a table for one for lunch today. I was at the mall shopping, hubby and baby were at his parent’s house dropping things, and dad was at a meeting. It kind of felt strange at first because it’s been years since I last ate alone at a restaurant; I’m either with my husband or dad. Anyways, I was at Ayala Center doing some errands and shopping when I looked at my watch and saw that it was 1:30pm and I hadn’t eaten lunch yet. I was in the mood for Asian cuisine today and so I went to Lemon Grass.
Lemon Grass has been a family-favorite ever since it opened at their original location, the old Entertainment Center at Ayala Center. As I scanned the menu, I decided I would order something new; something I never ordered before and something I know the family would never order in the future. And the pick was…bagoong rice. In all these years, I’ve never once ordered bagoong rice in restaurants. The few times I did eat it was in buffet settings. For those who are not familiar, bagoong rice is rice topped with green mango strips, shrimp paste, and egg cooked as an omelet, then cut into strips. My dad doesn’t eat anything with bagoong because of his allergies so this was the perfect pick.
